Cleanse Your Life: Part 2 – Mind

pexels-photo-255268.jpegWhat are you thinking about right now?  Is your life nothing like what you wish it was?  Do you think positive or negative thoughts?  Do you want to change your life?  What’s stopping you?

The mind is powerful, and you are the most powerful force that could ever exist. You are capable of manifesting your dreams into reality by simply thinking about them. Then, why don’t you?

The mind is the most mysterious part of our being, it’s so mysterious nobody knows where in your body it is, how it works, why it works and yet it controls everything about our life.

In this the second part of this blog series on Spring Clean Your Life, you are going to learn what is the biggest obstacle in your life, why you can’t live the life you want, and how to grab a hold of your own mind and thoughts so you can live the life of your dreams.

Throughout ancient history, the great masters of thought and knowledge discussed philosophical ideas and one topic always seemed to be the focus, the mind. The conscious and subconscious mind.  Even today scientists and doctors are puzzled by our mind.  Where is it, what is it, what does it look like, how does it really work?   These are some of the many questions yet to be answered.

I like to think of the mind not just as a physical body part but as a spiritual essence that is connected to the physical world through our body’s nervous system and cellular interactions.  The mind then is not entirely physical nor spiritual, it’s somewhere in between. It’s the connection between our spirit and our body.  Think of it as a form of energy that is ever present, like the Earth’s atmosphere, or light and dark matter throughout the universe.

Do you pay attention to your thoughts??  Do you even care about what you are thinking about right now?

Most of us have spent our entire lives mindlessly going about things and activities without really thinking about what we are doing and why.  Today’s technology, social media, tv shows and other media distract us from being aware of our own selves and our life.  Think of the average person’s daily activities…. work, school, family, shower, cook, sleep, work…. over and over again.  We are so disconnected from our own selves.  No wonder why so many people feel lost and unhappy with their life.  Not a lot of people are doing what they truly want to do, but why?

It all begins in childhood. Think about it, when you were a kid, what sort of dreams or ideas did you have and wanted to accomplish?? Have you done any yet?  From the moment we are conceived we are hardwired to be aware of negativity, danger, and those things that might cause us harm, more so if our mother is living in a hostile environment. Then when we were born the first thing we did was cry our lungs out!  I mean who wouldn’t? it was the first time we ever popped into a world filled with strange people, other creatures, and weird stuff. Do you remember this?

The good news though is that we can rewire our brain and teach ourselves to focus and be aware of the good, the positive, and what we want for ourselves. If so then what is stopping us from shifting our thoughts?  Well, grab a mirror and what you will see is your biggest obstacle.


As we grow up we are told NOT to do what we want to do and to follow orders. Do as I say or this and that.  This is a terrible way of raising happy humans!!  Don’t think about what you want, don’t do what you want because if you do all you can expect is punishment. Kids all over the world in their homes and schools are scolded this way. Even at this moment, we are constantly bombarded by other’s ideas, opinions and cultural traditions about who we should be, what we should act like and do with our lives. As adults, we think and act in ways totally opposite to what we want and desire or wish. We became domesticated to the dream of society.  We were raised with shoulds and nots and now we simply go about life like a heard of sheep. But in reality, we are lions in sheep’s clothing. The lion inside of you is waiting to be awakened. Do you feel more like a lion or a sheep?

Think about it, what are your dreams?  What are you thinking?  What are you doing and thinking right now that is bringing you closer to see those dreams realized?  You must stop for a few seconds now and answer these basic questions.

How to Spring Clean Your Mind?

Easier said than done, you might think, but in truth, it’s really easy.

You CHOOSE!!  Yes, you choose to think the thoughts you want to think about, you act on those thoughts, and then you become your thoughts and start living the life you want. Choose to think positive, choose to feel positive, choose to do things that you love doing, just choose!!

You go Do It!!

Decide that you want to start living the life you dream living as a child. Decide that you want to have a clear, focused, positive mind and start thinking positive thoughts about what you want. Focus on them, visualize yourself doing, feeling, touching, breathing the things you want. You might want to surround yourself with positive, inspiring, and uplifting people so you stick to your decisions. Then simply go do it!

Here’s something that can help you and make it easy and simple for you….

You Meditate

You can start small, focus on what you want for 5-10 minutes per day and build it up as you go, you’ll be amazed by the results you get.
